Description

This fresh and lush moss is harvested sustainably from a pesticide free forest in Denmark. Ready to be placed in your terrarium! Combine it with some of our DIY kits to create a beautiful slice of nature.

One 40x25x10 crate contains 3 to 4 layers of Sheet Moss

   Improves moisture retention in terrarium
   Lush and vibrant
Creates a natural and realistic look

As the moss comes from nature, be aware that there might be small critters in there. We do our best to remove them but sometimes one slips through.

Sheet moss in terrariums
While this flat moss not only provides a great look, it is also a protective cover for small insects and critters commonly found in terrariums. Sheet moss is best used to fill up larger spaces in terrariums. The natural sheet moss can fill in empty holes in your terrarium & make it one cohesive piece of nature.

To create an even more wild look consider adding in some cushion moss as well, as these two go great together & make sure there is a variation in texture.

Caring for sheet moss
Low to medium light and high humidity are the things you want to keep in mind when storing sheet moss. The plastic bag in which the moss comes will work as a temporary container (maximum of 2 weeks) as long as no direct sunlight hits the bag, however a more suited setup would be a terrarium you have up and running. No airflow in the bag is not good for the moss long-term.

You can also consider a tupperware container with some terrarium mix spread over the bottom & a few small air holes to support some airflow.

Decorative moss walls
If you are planning on making a decorative moss wall you are looking for preserved sheet moss instead of live sheet moss. This moss needs ample humidity to survive & won’t do well glued to a wall.

Socially responsible production

At Sybotanica HQ, our mission extends beyond just making plants happy – we strive to bring joy to people's lives as well. Within our production team, we exclusively hire individuals who have faced challenges in the workforce, offering them support in their journey towards reintegration into working life.

One shining example is Peter. He has been a part of Sybotanica since the start and has recently been promoted to the position of Head of Production. From being the company's first employee, he now leads a team of five production workers.

Peter's accomplishments are even more remarkable considering that he faces a significant visual impairment, with only 10% visibility. 🕶️ Through minor adjustments to his work environment, Peter is able to perform at 100% capacity.

Having experienced two company relocations, Peter possesses an unparalleled understanding of Sybotanica's operations. He can even discern between the 16 different soil mixes by touch alone – a testament to his dedication and skill.

We have full confidence that Peter will continue to excel in keeping our production processes running smoothly in the years to come! 💪

Rotting and dead moss

At least one-third of the moss I ordered was rotted and dead on arrival. Very disappointing.

Dear Martin,

Kind regards,

Sybren from Sybotanica
